Shraddha Kapoor pleas for empathy for animals left in isolation

Because of increased security measures utilized in India amidst the coronavirus lockdown, there are various zoos and other facilities made to fend for themselves.

During such times of crisis, Shraddha Kapoor has issued a plea to numerous across the nation, asking them not to forsake creatures left in social isolation.

Sharing a collage of animals in captivity, Shraddha took to Instagram to write, “So, you are tired of isolation? ‏‏‎ ‎ Since COVID-19 has forced the world to quarantine, we have all felt the effects of isolation — depression, anxiety, loneliness. Animals experience these very same emotions.”

“As humans, we tend to lack empathy for others until we have experienced ourselves. However, now that we have felt the anguish of captivity let us extend empathy toward another living being, which we share this world with. Millions of animals are isolated from their whole lives.”

“In isolation, these animals exhibit concerning behaviors such as self-harm. Mental health isn’t a uniquely human characteristic. This isn’t normal. These animals are isolated from their whole lives. We are guests of the world, not masters. #Repost @earth.”
