Kaley Cuoco is not one of the stars populating Rian Johnson’s buzzy Knives Out sequel,

which is a follow-up to his hit 2019 whodunnit. But to hear the actress tell it,

she was “convinced” that her part in the film had been secured. After all the recognition she received for HBO Max’s The Flight Attendant,

for which she earned her first Emmy nomination, Cuoco told Glamour, “I was thinking I was hot shit.

I’m going to be with Daniel Craig [who reprises his role as Detective Benoit Blanc]. This is amazing.”

She was “so convinced that my bags were packed for Greece,” where the sequel was filmed last summer.

“And then I didn’t get it. I was so devastated. And I’m not [normally] devastated over roles.

I had done chemistry reads, I had done Zooms. And I didn’t get it.”
Instead, it was Kate Hudson who would be cast in the role.

“I cried and I cried all night long,” Cuoco said. “I mean, I was gutted over that. And that’s when I thought I was on fire,

like, I’m for sure getting that. And they were like, ‘No, we’re going to go with Kate.’”
