Hundreds of thousands of people on both sides of the Ohio River showed up to bask in the sun,

watch a spectacular airshow and the huge fireworks display.

"Having fun, hanging out with friends, having a good time enjoying downtown Louisville," Jason Kinser said.

It was a perfect day that had record-breaking temperatures.
"Neither of us are from here so this is our first one ever," Madison Bourgeois.

We have lived here in Louisville as a group for three years, met here in Louisville and we're here for our first freaking fireworks and we are so excited."
