Texas shooting horror as six-hour hostage situation in doctor’s office leaves two dead

Reports have said the hostage situation lasted for six hours inside a Central Austin doctor’s office in the US. Police entered the building in Texas on Tuesday evening.


According to the Austin American-Statesman, members of the SWAT negotiators could be heard taking to the hostage taker.

A member of the SWAT team said: “Your life is very important to me.”

He added: “And I know life is very important to you.”

The hostage situation was reported at around 4:30pm local time.

Officials said the SWAT team entered the building and found two victims dead.  


Austin American-Statesman journalist, Tony Plohetski, said “as many as 5 hostages” have been reported.

In a Twitter post, Austin Police said: “The SWAT situation has ended.

“Two subjects have been located and were pronounced deceased.

“The APD homicide unit is on scene and investigating.

“More information will be provided tomorrow by the PIO office.”
